1. Introduction and Definitions
1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the BookRoar website and services at www.bookroar.com (the Service). By using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1.2 BookRoar, we, us, our means BookRoar.com. You and User means any person who accesses or uses the Service.
1.3 User Content means any text, reviews, ratings, images, comments, or other material submitted by users. Review Manipulation means any activity intended to distort, inflate, or otherwise manipulate reviews or ratings, including review swapping, incentivised reviews, coordinated campaigns, false accounts, or other deceptive practices.
1.4 Changes to Terms and Conditions. BookRoar reserves the right, from time to time, with or without notice to you, to change these Terms and Conditions at its sole discretion. The most current version of these Terms and Conditions can be reviewed by clicking on the "Terms and Conditions" hyperlink located at the bottom of most pages of the BookRoar website. The most current version of the Terms and Conditions will supersede all previous versions. Your use of the BookRoar website after changes are made means that you agree to be bound by such changes.
2. Services Membership and Subscriptions
2.1 BookRoar provides an online platform for independent authors and readers to post, read, and interact with book reviews and related content. All services will be delivered electronically through the BookRoar website.
2.2 Membership details, subscription plans, billing cycles, and any trial periods are described in My Account and the Subscription Terms. You are responsible for maintaining accurate account information.
2.3 If you subscribe to a paid plan you agree to the Subscription Terms and authorize us to charge the payment method you provide. Subscription renewals are automatic unless cancelled in accordance with the Subscription Terms.
2.4 The total cost of your order will be the price of the products you order. All prices are displayed in USD, however the equivalent amount will be taken for your purchase once converted through your card provider. We accept payment by most major credit and debit cards. All prices will be set out clearly in your Checkout before you submit your order.
To be eligible to purchase goods from BookRoar, you must:
- be 18 years of age or over; and
- be the card holder or have the card holders permission
By offering to purchase goods and services you represent to us that you are 18 years of age or over and authorize us to transmit information (including updated information) to obtain information from third parties, including but not limited to, your debit or credit card numbers or credit reports to authenticate your identity, to validate your credit card, to obtain an initial credit card authorisation and to authorise individual purchase transactions.
You also confirm that products ordered are for your own personal and domestic use and will not be re-sold, rented or handled in any other way.
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact us for refund options. This does not affect your statutory rights.
3. User Content Licence and Conduct
3.1 Licence Grant
By posting User Content you grant BookRoar a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free, transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and promote that content on the Service and in BookRoar marketing materials. This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to BookRoar.
3.2 Representations and Warranties
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to post the User Content and that posting it does not infringe any third‑party rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights.
3.3 Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Post content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, threatening, harassing, or otherwise objectionable.
- Use the Service to impersonate others or create false or duplicate accounts.
- Engage in Review Manipulation including review swapping, offering payment or credits for reviews, coordinating groups to post reviews, or any activity intended to manipulate reviews on BookRoar or third‑party platforms (including Amazon and Goodreads).
- Use the Service to facilitate unlawful activity or to violate any applicable law.
You must abide by Amazon's Community Guidelines and the BookRoar rules at all times. Failure to do so may put your accounts with BookRoar and Amazon at risk, and by using BookRoar you agree that BookRoar cannot be held liable for any action taken against the User by either BookRoar.com or any other third party. If you breach these terms then you will be removed from BookRoar and no refunds will be issued.
3.4 Consequences
Violations of these rules may result in content removal, account suspension, termination, and reporting to third‑party platforms or authorities.
4. Moderation Enforcement Reporting and Appeals
4.1 Moderation Rights
We reserve the right to remove, edit, or refuse any User Content at our discretion and without prior notice.
4.2 Enforcement Actions
Enforcement actions may include content removal, temporary suspension, permanent termination, and reporting suspected abuse to third‑party platforms or law enforcement.
4.3 Reporting
To report suspected review manipulation or other abuse, use the Contact page and provide relevant evidence. We will acknowledge reports and aim to investigate within a reasonable timeframe.
4.4 Appeals
If enforcement action is taken against your account you may request an appeal by contacting support. Appeals will be reviewed in accordance with our moderation policy and we will communicate the outcome within a reasonable period.
5. Intellectual Property and DMCA Takedown Procedure
5.1 Ownership
All BookRoar content, site design, and proprietary materials are owned by BookRoar.com or licensed to us. You may not commercially exploit our content without written permission.
5.2 Copyright Infringement Claims
If you believe content on BookRoar infringes your copyright, send a written takedown notice to our designated agent including: identification of the copyrighted work, location of the infringing material, your contact details, a statement of good faith belief, and a signature. We will respond to valid notices and provide a counter‑notice procedure consistent with applicable law.

Cancellations must be made through the website in My Account. Deactivation or deletion of an account takes effect immediately and may result in loss of access to content, credits, or subscriptions.
7.3 Refunds
Refunds are handled in accordance with the Subscription Terms. Unless otherwise stated, refunds are discretionary and subject to our refund policy and applicable consumer protection laws.
8. Indemnity Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BookRoar.com and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your User Content; (b) your breach of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any law or third‑party rights.
8.2 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BookRoar cannot be held liable for any loss or damage arising under or in connection with these Terms. You use the site at your own risk, and BookRoar will not reimburse the user financially for any perceived loss or earnings. We exclude liability for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profits, business, or reputation.
8.3 Disclaimers
The BookRoar website and its contents are provided "as is" and we make no representations or warranties of any kind with respect to the BookRoar website or its contents. We assume no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions in the content of the BookRoar website, any failures, delays, or interruptions in the delivery of content contained on the BookRoar website, any losses or damages arising from the use of the content provided on the BookRoar website, or any conduct by users of the BookRoar website. We reserve the right to deliver purchases at our sole discretion. We disclaim all representations and warranties, including, for example, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In addition, we do not represent or warrant that the information accessible via our site is accurate, complete or current.
By using this site, you acknowledge that the owners of BookRoar are not responsible for any action taken by a third party or website which may result in a book or author being removed from sale. This includes the loss of copyright rights and the loss of current and future financial gain. Each member acknowledges they use BookRoar at their own risk and cannot hold those running the site accountable. This includes current and future policies, changes, or penalties which may be brought in by Amazon and Goodreads.
BookRoar takes every precaution to prevent a review swap from happening, but you, the user, are responsible for making sure you are not taking part in a review swap. In no event shall BookRoar, its shareholders, directors, officers, or employees be liable (jointly or severally) to you for any special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages of any kind, or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data or profits, whether or not advised of the possibility of damage, and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of this information. If any applicable authority holds any portion of this section to be unenforceable, then liability will be limited to the fullest possible extent permitted by applicable law.
9. Termination Changes and Notices

We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion. On termination your content may be removed and you may lose access to any credits or subscriptions.
