BookRoar (a trading name of BookRoar Ltd.) is committed to providing a fair and transparent refund policy for all subscription plans. Please read this policy carefully to understand your rights and options regarding refunds.
Subscription Plans Overview
BookRoar offers three subscription tiers:
- Basic Plan ($6/month): Maximum of 1 review per 30 days (3 books selected per month with waiting period)
- Standard Plan ($10/month): Unlimited reviews per calendar month
- Extra Plan ($18/month): Unlimited reviews per calendar month with additional features
All subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis.
Refund Eligibility
7-Day Money-Back Guarantee (First-Time Subscribers Only)
If you are subscribing to BookRoar for the first time, you are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription payment, provided that:
- You have not selected more than one book for review
- You have not submitted any completed reviews
- You request the refund within 7 calendar days of the subscription start date

Service Failure or Technical Issues
If you experience technical issues that prevent you from accessing core BookRoar features (such as selecting books, submitting reviews, or accessing your account), and these issues are not resolved within 5 business days of reporting them, you may be eligible for a prorated refund for the affected billing period.

Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will NOT be issued under the following circumstances:
- Subscription cancellations after the 7-day guarantee period has expired (for first-time subscribers)
- Cancellations made after selecting multiple books or completing reviews
- Change of mind after using the service
- Failure to cancel a subscription before the next billing cycle
- Account suspension or termination due to violation of our Terms and Conditions
- Disputes regarding the quality of books available on the platform
- Inability to complete reviews due to personal circumstances
Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings:
- Log in to your BookRoar account
- Navigate to My Account
- Select View Subscription
- Click Cancel Subscription
When you cancel your subscription:
- You will retain access to your subscription benefits until the end of your current billing period
- No refund will be provided for the remaining days in the current billing cycle (except during the 7-day guarantee period)
- Your subscription will not renew for the next billing cycle
- Any unused credits will be lost upon cancellation
- Any books currently selected for review must be returned or completed before the billing period ends
No other cancellation method is acceptable, and BookRoar Ltd will have no liability for a cancellation request sent by any other means.
Plan Changes and Downgrades
If you upgrade your subscription plan (e.g., from Basic to Standard), the change takes effect immediately, and you will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing cycle.
If you downgrade your subscription plan (e.g., from Standard to Basic), the change will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. No refunds will be issued for the difference in cost for the current billing period.
Processing Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days of approval and will be returned to the original payment method used for the subscription purchase. Please allow 5-10 additional business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your financial institution.
Account Deactivation vs. Deletion
Deactivation: If you deactivate your account while maintaining an active subscription:
- Your subscription will continue to be charged
- Credits attached to your books will be removed and added to your profile
- You can reactivate your account at any time
- No refund will be issued for the deactivation period
Deletion: If you delete your account:
- Your subscription will be automatically cancelled
- All listed books will be removed immediately
- All remaining credits will be permanently lost
- No refund will be issued unless you are within the 7-day guarantee period
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed
Billing Disputes
If you believe you have been incorrectly charged or notice unauthorized charges on your account, please Contact Us immediately with:
- Your account email address
- The date and amount of the disputed charge
- A brief explanation of the issue
We will investigate all billing disputes within 7 business days and respond with our findings and resolution.
Free Trial Periods
If BookRoar offers a free trial period for new subscribers (when applicable):
- You may cancel during the trial period without being charged
- Cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before the trial period ends
- After the trial period expires, your subscription will automatically begin, and standard billing will apply
- Trial periods are limited to one per user and cannot be combined with other offers
Fair Use Policy
BookRoar reserves the right to deny refund requests in cases of suspected abuse or violation of our fair use policy, including but not limited to:
- Multiple refund requests from the same user
- Attempts to exploit the 7-day guarantee period repeatedly
- Fraudulent payment information
- Using the service extensively before requesting a refund
Changes to This Refund Policy
BookRoar reserves the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the modified policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
